San Diego is the 8th largest city in the entire country and the second largest in the state. It is situated in southern California and is near the Mexican border. This contributes to the rich diversity of the area and makes for a cultural blend that results in several attractions and museums and a slew of eateries serving up fusion dishes that you might not get anywhere else in the country.
The temperature here is mild just about all year, making it a hot spot for beachgoers and the mild climate also made it an attractive option for the U.S. Navy to establish a base here. San Diego Bay offers scenic views and the parks scattered around the city provide recreational opportunities aplenty.
Tourism is big business here, as there is much to see from the San Diego Zoo to SeaWorld San Diego to the mass of annual events held here, including the ever-popular Comic-Con. This is a large city, so getting around via car or other vehicle is a must if you want to see all that this California city has to offer.
