Pros: Legacy will agree when they perform their work inaccurately.
Cons: Legacy had to have us admonish them for their improper work.
Comment: We had a very bad experience with Legacy Service USA. We do not recommend this company at all. Check any and all contractor’s work because you need to find out which one is highly professional and educated versus those who cut corners as much as possible or a contractor who is simply inexperienced and ignorant of performing beyond expectations. Here is our horror story when we hired Legacy Service to remove our existing stucco and install James Hardie plank lap siding. Unbeknownst to us Legacy hired out-of-state subcontractors and never showed us proof of their insurance or contractors license. We requested to see the work permit only to find out Legacy did not pull the permit at the beginning of the job as required by the Township, but pulled the permit after the work began which put us in a $100 violation with the Township. Legacy did a decent job removing the stucco from our house but did leave behind more debris than we cared for in our yard. To check for any possible wood damage under the now exposed foam board, instead of neatly cutting into our foam insulation to see what was underneath, Legacy struck at it with the hammer claw leaving a gap in the insulation. Legacy did not install our James Hardie plank siding according to manufacturer’s specifications which violates and voids the James Hardie 30-year Limited Warranty for our plank lap siding. Here’s what they did incorrectly: For our specific siding installation the nails should be 3” long but Legacy used 2-3/16” long nails instead. Nails should hit every stud but Legacy did not measure out the studs to nail into. Flashing installed under each seam should be 9-1/4” x 6” but Legacy used small slivers instead. Plank edges cut in the field should be painted and caulked before installing but this was not done at all by Legacy. Legacy was going to remedy the situation but we could not trust this company to perform further work on our house. We paid two of the three payments. We should have held back the second payment knowing things were going so badly. Take it from us...check on your contractor's work as much as possible and never ever feel pressured or under any obligation to pay a contractor when they are blatantly performing poorly.
