Comment: I used to be so afraid of the monthly pain refill visits with my old doctors. I was treated so badly and was so afraid of saying or doing something wrong because they always seemed to be looking for something they could pounce on to prove there was nothing wrong with me.  I'd been called a liar, a junkie, a hypochondriac and dumped out of another service with no way to continue getting my medication, throwing me into withdrawal.  Those visits, and the week before while I anticipated them, were actively making me sicker and my pain so much worse, and left me feeling humiliated and invisible.  Dr. Peterson trusts me and treats me with kindness and respect, never, ever making me feel like I have to kiss his rear or be afraid to make him angry.  He knows something is wrong and is trying to treat it, and he never suggests that I'm not trying hard enough to get better.  He isn't one of those docs on the opposite side of the spectrum who doesn't care what, if anything, is wrong with me and just throws pills at me once a month but neither does he withhold medication if we think it's right.  He's just such a nice, nice man trying hard to help me in the least invasive way possible and I don't have to be afraid to see him.  I look forward to it, in fact.  He's funny and I always laugh. I am so sorry you are having to search for a PM doc, but if you have a chance to see Dr. Peterson, don't hesitate.  You will be so glad and relieved you did.
