Pros:
The receptionist was pleasant.
Cons:
The dentist was so dude and left me in so much pain that I had to go to another one the next day so they could give me some relief from the pain!
Comment:
Unfortunately, this does not offer the option of posting a lack of stars, so I kind of feel like it's an ill-gotten and completely unearned accolade. Yesterday I had my first appointment at First Dental of Pineville and while the receptionists were quite pleasant, I was in a great deal of pain due to my need of a root canal. Due to a past episode of Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome (PRES) that was exacerbated by Serotonin Syndrome that led to multiple seizures and strokes, I made it a point to reiterate both verbally and in writing on my medical documents that I had an "allergy" to drugs that fall into the SSRI category. After the single most painful dental cleaning of my life and with tears streaming down my face, I asked if it would be possible to receive a Novacaine injection to give me a reprieve from the pain I had been suffering and which became markedly worse after that sadistic cleaning. I was denied the injection and told to take Motrin as it would be sufficient for the nerve pain that I now need a root canal to remedy. By the time I was halfway home, the pain was so mad that I began calling emergency dental clinics to find someone who would do a last minute Novacaine injection. When I called First Dental to beg for one, I was told that the "dental professional" was kind enough to write a prescription for something..... Something that causes a risk for seizures and Serotonin Syndrome. So best case scenario, they just don't listen, worst case, they'll kill you. After receiving multiple emails requesting that I leave a review to help build their business, unless I was unsatisfied, in which case I was to call so they could make an attempt to rectify the issues and when I did, I was told that they "stopped using Novacaine in 1950" and that the scholarly and scientific articles I was pulling the information on the meds were nonsense.... I was belittled and was mocked and it was the worst dentist I have ever had the displeasure of knowing. How does one do a root canal with no Novacaine?! Trust me, this is NOT the dentist to go to!
