That’s because Georgette’s is part of Sunshine Communities, which since 1950 has supported people with developmental disabilities. Georgette’s employs men and women with disabilities in its kitchen, dining area, and gift shop in Uptown Maumee, and at their coffee packaging facility on Sunshine’s Maumee campus a few miles away.

Their work is part of supported employment, which helps staff build social and job skills. It also offers meaningful products and services, and that boosts the local economy. Best of all? By supporting people with disabilities as they live, work and play in the community, we better understand the gifts, talents and value of every human being.
