Description
Lanier Raceplex is a 0.375-mile paved oval racetrack located just outside Braselton, Georgia. The track was built by championship racer Bud Lunsford and opened in 1982 as a dirt track, and was paved in 1987. Formerly known as Lanier National Speedway, the track promoted weekly local oval racing and hosted several race series such as the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series with Super Late Models, SuperTrucks, Junkyard Dogs, Outlaw Late Models, Mini Stocks, INEX Legends Cars and INEX Bandolero Cars. Lunsford sold the track in 1995. It continued to run a weekly race program until, with reduced participation, it was closed around 2011.

In 2014, the Lanier National Speedway property was purchased by road-racing champion Jim Downing and renamed Lanier Raceplex. The infield walls, buildings, and facilities were removed and the whole track received a complete “black lake” paving of the entire infield and oval. Other amenities also received renovations. The race track has since reopened featuring ‘arrive and drive’ kart racing with road-course-type track configurations. Drifting events have been hosted and other motorsports activities may be developed. The location is across from the Road Atlanta motor racing circuit on Highway 53.

Other amenities at the venue can host a corporate or private meeting, team building activity, reunion, outdoor concert, car meet, swap meet, arts show, etc.
