    Comment:
In early May I began having trouble with an electrical outlet in my kitchen periodically not working. I placed a claim with my home warranty company, Total Protect. They sent a technician from Changing Seasons AC and Electric out to my house and, since the outlet happened to be working during the time he was there, he could not figure out what the problem was. He told me that since he didn’t fix anything, I would only owe $60 instead of the $75 home warranty fee. I paid the $60. While he was there, I asked if he would please give me an estimate on installing an outdoor outlet on the outside of my house near my patio. He looked at it and gave me an estimate of $183. Less than an hour after he left my house, the outlet began to stop working again. I called them back to let them know that I would need him to back out to find out what was going on. I set an appointment for him to come back, diagnose the problem with the kitchen outlet AND install the outdoor outlet for the quoted price of $183. He came out again and finally determined that the cause of the problem was an outdoor outlet which would not be covered by the home warranty. I was at work at the time but my daughter-in-law was there. I informed her that I was going into a meeting and would be unavailable for 45 minutes to an hour. Instead of doing the other job he was hired to do, which was installing the outdoor outlet (a completely separate issue) and then speaking to me later regarding the original problem, he simply left…just did nothing, said nothing and left. Didn’t do the job he was hired to do… didn’t leave me an estimate for the non-working outlet in the kitchen…nothing. If he had done the other job (installing the outdoor outlet on my patio), I would have been finished with my meeting and could have spoken to him on the phone about repairing the original problem. I found this to be just so ridiculous I can’t even put it into words. So, I called their office and, after being told that he left because he didn’t want to do any work without payment (I had left a check there for $183 for the new outlet I was supposed to receive), I was told I should call him directly, which I did and left a message for him to call me. I tried calling several more times that day. I have yet to get a return phone call or have anyone call to check on these jobs which were supposed to be completed. Now I have received another bill from them, for $60, besides the first one that I paid when the guy couldn’t even figure out what was wrong. So $60, for him to NOT figure out what was wrong and fix the problem, and another $60 for him to come out and do nothing that he was hired to do and just leave and never return any calls or come back. $120 for absolutely nothing. I sent the first invoice back with no check and a letter detailing this entire fiasco. How they had the nerve to send me another invoice, I have no idea, but they did. I have since had an electrician come and address both issues. He did both jobs in 45 minutes and he charged me $150 for all of it. That’s just $30 more than they are asking me to pay… for nothing! I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone!
